FibronPipe® - Silver Line

This new piping solution features by significantly faster installation times compared to the use of traditional steel pipes. It can be coiled up and re-used again during its` service life.

The FibronPipe Silver Line has been specially designed for applications in the energy industry. It is reinforced by advanced, thermoplastic coated uni-directional fibre tapes which distinguish themselves by very high tensile strength. Applied in multiple layers they function as a pressure resistant reinforcement layer.

FibronPipe is designed for conveying water or hydrocarbons and is good for applications in gathering lines, transportation, water injection, flowlines, disposal-/ transfer lines and rehabilitation.

The FibronPipe Silver Line is:

  • characterized by a bonded layer matrix

  • non-corrosive

  • light weighted

  • available in MAOP 40-210 bars

  • spoolable and delivered on coils

  • available from DN50 to DN150

  • delivered on drums or coils for a rapid deployment and installation

  • exceptionally durable

  • flexible in installation and application usage

Pipe connection method

The pipe connection is accomplished with a swaged flange connector system (single and double swaged design).
The pipe-to-pipe connection is assured with couplers.
Flange end fittings and couplers are made of carbon steel or stainless steel materials (e.g. 304, 321 grades), dependent on the application based requirements.

TCP for hydrogen transportation and distribution

Hydrogen is a very versatile energy source and scores points because it can also be used as a buffer for storage.

The main aim now is to design an operationally reliable and long-lasting pipe system for the transport and distribution of hydrogen that is also characterized by high cost efficiency. Criteria with regard to long-term pressure resistance, good compatibility with H2 and permeation tightness must be met.

Using TCP for H2 offers advantages compared to steel pipes. This is primarily reflected in the fact that no hydrogen embrittlement or corrosion can occur, a significantly lower CO2 footprint is achieved during production and use, and time/cost savings occur during installation.

TCP for hydrogen transport when operating wind farms:

On- and offshore wind farms are increasingly being designed and built to produce hydrogen “on site”. The reasons are obvious:

On the one hand, transporting hydrogen is significantly cheaper than transporting electricity. On the other hand, placing the electrolyzer in the turbine (or on a nearby platform) allows for simpler electronics in the turbine.

FibronPipe has already manufactured and delivered a wide variety of thermoplastic composite pipes in a number of testing and qualification programs. The pipes have been manufactured with different diffusion barrier executions. To qualify for use, these TCPs are subjected to various long-term tests.

Thermo-insulated TCP

The TCP has already been supplied with factory made, integrated PUR insulation. The use of these pipe systems not only finds demand in the oil- and gas segment but has also been considered for industrial power plants which have cooling water loops that need to be insulated against hot ambient temperatures.
